About & FAQ

Four developers. One world. No publisher. No compromise.

Built with Passion,
and Love

Knight's Path is an independent game created by a small team of developers who share a love for medieval RPGs. We are not backed by a publisher and chose to declined all publishing offers in order to maintain our complete creative freedom.

We are a team of four developers working on the project in their our free time, with help from a few dedicated volunteers. Every animation, line of dialogue, and place in Erantfels is carefully considered and gradually refined as the game grows.

We are taking our time to build a world that feels believable and immersive. Our aim is to create a grounded medieval RPG with thoughtful combat, deep visual progression, meaningful choices, and a world that players can truly lose themselves in.

Creating authentic and Fun RPG

Knight's Path is built on a simple idea: to create the kind of medieval RPG we ourselves always wanted to play. A game that feels authentic, immersive, rewarding, and fun to play, where choices matter and progress is felt through the way you play.

We love RPGs where progress is visible and meaningful, not hidden behind invisible stat numbers. As your character improves, the change should be seen. As your combat skill improves, it should be felt directly in the gameplay. We have a deep respect for the medieval setting and strive to portray it as authentically as possible. Even within our low fantasy world, we believe this grounded approach helps make the experience more believable and immersive.

Our goal is to create a game that is first and foremost fun to play. A game that tells a memorable and inspiring story. A game that respects the player's time, without artificial grinding or systems designed only to keep you busy. A game that will challenge you without feeling frustrating and make completing it feel truly satisfying.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Knight's Path, straight from the team.

What is Knight's Path?
Knight's Path is an independent, story-driven, open-world action RPG set in a low-fantasy medieval world. We prioritize gameplay immersion, rewarding RPG progression, and challenging, tactical combat inspired by Historical European Martial Arts.
How big is the team?
We are a team of four developers working on the game in our free time, with help from a few volunteers. We are not backed by any publisher and have declined all publishing offers to maintain our creative freedom.
What's the scope of the full game?
Knight's Path aims to be a true RPG experience featuring a small, handcrafted open world. The game will offer approximately 20 to 50 hours of gameplay. We focus on quality over quantity — every part of the world has a reason to exist.
What will the price be?
It is too early to confirm the final price, but players can expect it to be around $30.
What weapons are available in the game?
Knight's Path features three main weapon categories:

One-handed: swords, axes, maces, shields.
Two-handed: longswords, spears, poleaxes, halberds, greatswords.
Ranged: bows and crossbows.

Combat skill progresses through four levels — Novice → Intermediate → Expert → Master — with each level unlocking new animations, mechanics, and techniques.
How realistic is the combat?
Combat is inspired by Historical European Martial Arts and is built around authentic stances and techniques. It is grounded in realism while making deliberate compromises to ensure it remains engaging, satisfying, and fun. Every strike, parry, counter, and step is intentional and meaningful — designed to feel responsive and skill-based rather than rigidly realistic.
What platforms will Knight's Path be on?
PC first — Steam, with possible releases on GOG and the Epic Games Store. After launch, we are open to bringing the game to PlayStation and Xbox. The game is also planned to support Steam Deck.
Will there be multiplayer?
No. Knight's Path is strictly a single-player experience. Our focus is entirely on delivering a deep, immersive, story-driven RPG — adding multiplayer would dilute everything we're building toward.
How much fantasy is in the game?
Knight's Path is low fantasy. Expect little to no magic and some mythological creatures inspired by Slavic and Germanic folklore and 15th-century medieval manuscripts. The world feels grounded — the fantastical elements are rare, and that rarity makes them feel genuinely unsettling.
How does the armor equipment system work?
The equipment system has four slots: Head, Torso, Hands, and Legs. You can freely mix and match armor pieces. We've put significant work into ensuring every combination looks cohesive and correct.

You'll also be able to customize armor by changing colors, adjusting polish, adding garments over pieces, and adding decorative details like feathers on helmets — and more.
What are the main inspirations?
RPG progression & world design: Gothic 2 — comparable to The Witcher 2 in scope and structure.
Combat system: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Setting: The 15th-century Holy Roman Empire, Slavic and Germanic folklore, and medieval manuscripts.
When will Knight's Path be released?
We are targeting a release window of 2028–2029, though this is subject to change as development progresses. Our priority is to deliver a finished, polished experience — we will not rush. We will keep the community updated as we get closer to launch.
Will the game include horse riding?
Sadly, no — horses are currently out of scope. If we were to add them, we'd want to do it properly, with full mounted combat and jousting designed to be genuinely fun and meaningful. Hopefully in a sequel, if the game is successful.
How can I support the team?
We do not accept donations at the moment. We plan to launch a Kickstarter campaign, but only after the new demo is ready so players can try the game first. The best thing you can do right now is wishlist the game on Steam — it genuinely helps more than most people realise.

Knight's Path is in active development. All features, mechanics, and content described here are subject to change based on development progress and community feedback. We share updates regularly on our social channels.
